After the church burned in 1968 - the congregation decided to rebuild on the old site, and broke ground March 10th, 1969. After 3514 hours of donated labor (3208 man hours in construction, 240 woman hours painting, and 66 machine hours). The church celebrated with a service of dedication on November 2nd, 1969 led by Rev. Leonard Reifel.
1969 Song of Dedication Bless this house, O Lord, We Pray, Make it safe by night and day, Bless these walls, so firm and stout, Keeping want and trouble out; Bless the roof and chimneys tall, Let they peace lie over all; Bless this door, that it may prove Ever open to joy and love. Bless these windows shining bright, Letting in God's Heav'nly light; Bless the hearth a-blazing there, with smoke ascending like a prayer; Bless the folk who dwell within, Keep them pure and free from sin; Bless us all that one day we May dwell, O Lord, with thee. |
1969 Prayer of Dedication
"Almighty and ever living God, whom the heaven of heavens cannot contain, much less these temples made with hands; graciously accept this place of they dwelling, and ourselves at home therein, which we have consecrated to the honor and glory of they blessed name.
