The Congregational Church began in 1893 under the leadership of Rev. Edward. A. Paddock. The church met in Cowin's Opera House until January 24, 1894 when they moved into their newly erected building on the site of the current Weiser Community Church (240 E Main St.).
It remained a Congregational Church until 1957 when they changed the name to the United Church of Christ. |
Began as the Weiser Congregation of the German Baptist Brethren Church in 1897. The church rotated services between the home of Abraham and Sarah Nodle and the Christian Endeavour Chapel until April 14th, 1906 when they moved into their newly erected building on the corner of 7th/ East Court.
On May 20th, 1920 the members voted to change the name to Weiser Congregation of the Church of the Brethren. |
